Antique Late Victorian Straw Hat Summer Dark Brown Colorful Watered Silk Ribbon
Perfect example of early Victorian straw hats- this one is a super one! It actually almost looks like it is from the 1930s, but its from the 1890s. It has a silk lining. The brown large scale straw is woven in a pattern I have never seen before.
Its quite stiff. And brittle. The beautiful dark toned watered silk hat ribbon is carefully placed and held on with hat pins.
The antique straw hat is 12" across, with the crown being small- typical of the era- it was to be worn on top of a bun, not down over the head.
This little lovely is in overall very good condition, with some breaks on the straw as shown. It can still be worn with care, but may be best displayed.
