Vintage Ladies Coat Black Persian Lamb Mink Silver Mink Trim & Hat 1950s
Classic ladies vintage coat of jet black Persian Lamb, sometimes called karakul, and very substantial. It is HEAVY. This one has raglan sleeves, and no shoulder pads. The notched collar and cuffs are trimmed with silver mink. Two front slash pockets and two hook and eyes close the front.
It is lined in black silk satin damask with pretty red and white flowers in it. Inside is a hidden safety pocket, and there are ties and a loop for security, if you want to wear it just on your shoulders. It is a " Charles" maker, apparently a high end furrier of the day in Harrisburg Pa. It has a matching silver fox hat , size small. The hat is a simple sort of pill box sphere. Simply gorgeous!

If you'd like to not feel guilty about wearing a vintage fur, read a great, well done article that appeared in Collectors Weekly by Lisa Hix, and reprinted on my Vintage Blog entitled "Should You Feel Guilty For Wearing Vintage Fur? Finally, the voice of reason- it’s actually “green” to wear vintage fur!"
