Vintage Jacket Black Silk Taffeta Beaded Cocktail 1950S Red Peplum 36B-28W

Gorgeous vintage black silk taffeta jacket with ¾ length raglan sleeves and wide square neckline that is embellished with an inner all around band of black corde soutache and glass or possibly jet beads. It has plastic shank buttons that on first look, appear to be Victorian cut glass.
It almost seems as though they morphed a Victorian bodice into a 50's style- which isn't a stretch since the fifties styles are similar. It has a tight waist and a peplum lined in red. Certainly a very unique item!
This was custom made for Sonja Loew, a Czech who married theater magnate E. M. Loew and was fabulous for her generosity, outrageous outfits, and indecipherable accent. She is sitting next to Zsa Zsa Gabor in this photo.

CONDITION: Over all, Excellent, however, there is a small repair at the stress point where the arm meets the bodice. Its not really noticeable, but it IS there. Also, it looks as though this was taken out a little. If you can live with those flaws, it is a great little jacket,
