Vintage 1960s Marimekko Minimalist Cotton Shirt Dress Neutral Pattern Unique Small Pencil
Rare and wonderful vintage 1960s Marimekko printed house dress of heavy cotton in the neutral horizontal stripe pattern, in soft orange, blue, mocha on an ivory ground, with zip front (3/4) and short raglan sleeves. It is a cool straight style, with side seam pockets and a drawstring belt. Interesting double hem. Unlined.
Vuokko Nurmesniemi was a principal designer for Marimekko and was known for bold color and shape combinations, and whimsical looks. It is missing its Marimekko label, but I had it authenticated by an expert in Finland.
