Antique Mens Stovepipe Hat Beaver Fur Felt 1880s J.H. Windsor Sz 7 Steampunk
This exceptional estate acquisition features an antique "stovepipe" hat dating from the mid to late 1880s. It is in commendably good condition considering its age and remains quite wearable. The hat is constructed from fine beaver fur, complemented by a silk underbrim.
The antique stovepipe hat is elegantly lined with starched taupe silk, or maybe it is a type of paper. And bears the stamp of J.H. Windsor, located at 343 W. Baltimore St., Baltimore, MD. The dimensions of the hat are as follows: it stands at 6 1/4 inches in height and has a front brim measuring 2 1/8 inches in width. The interior circumference is 22 inches, corresponding to a modern size of 7. Although some wear is evident, as depicted in the accompanying photograph, particularly with the underbrim exhibiting noticeable moth damage, the overall condition remains quite commendable. It does have a repaired break on the back of the brim.
