Anu Pentik was a leather atelier boutique owner and designer, the pieces are extremely sought after and very highly valued and appreciated in Finland. It is the way the pieces are constructed that makes them special like if you check out this black full skirt, it fits with elastic at the waist and has a full skirt with 90" sweep- wearable art! It has a 30" elastic waist, which stretches to 36" and is 30.5" long with a 90" sweep hem.
I am not an expert in the field but I am sure Anu Pentik was, so the pieces are not just randomly sewn together, they are cut the way that provides the best fit and movement for the garment. All the 60s - 70s Pentik pieces are incredible, I have seen leather vests by Pentik that have sort of almost lace structure in the leather because they've meticulously cut and then finished by stitching around the holes, very unique and as she was only specialized in leather garments, she knew what she was doing.
It has the maker label on the belt, which is also patchwork, and measures 72" long by 4.5" at the wider ends/ It came from a Finnish friend who owned it personally. She said it was likely reindeer leather as that was used a lot, but I am not guaranteeing it. It does have some discolorations but not blatant. The foam backing on the leather is coming off. But overall excellent, the foam isn't actively falling out of it.
