Vintage Beaded Jacket Black Gabardine Stunning 1940S 36" Bust 28" Waist
Perfect classic vintage black gabardine wool blazer jacket, probably was part of a suit at one time. It has medium padded shoulders and a darted waist. It has covered buttons and french buttonholes. It's lined in rayon crepe.
I love the beaded details, on a separate added hemline and on the long peaked collar. It has a consumer protection label, and here is some interesting info on it:
The National Recovery Board was brought into effect in 1934, as part of the New Deal. The Coat and Suit Industry National Recovery Board was a trade organization that came about in order to assure that garments were made in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards. The label assured consumers that the garment was made by workers who were not working excessive hours and who were being paid a fair hourly wage. This label is seen from the mid-1930s into the 1960s.
