Vtg Finnish Red Wool Knitted Maxi Dress & Matching Bag 1970s Punainen Rukki

Fun red knit wool dress( yes, it IS scratchy!) with a matching belt and purse, and an optional brooch of the same fabric. You would definitely be " Lady in Red" in this number!The bell sleeves with the rosettes are really cool. It is lined and is a pull-on style with buttons at the back top. The brooch is a pin on.

CONDITION:  Unfortunately, it has a few small holes, presumable moth, but they ARE repairable. Price reflects. Otherwise in great shape, with no stains. 

Made by a small knitting factory probably made-to-order for someone going to a fancy event. What I love about it, is that it's a complete outfit with a purse, optional belt, and brooch and that yes, it is in fact factory made BUT knitted, NOT made from purchased knitted fabric but the company who made the outfit knit the fabric specifically for that outfit. The lace pattern etc. in it requires obviously lots of skills and craftsmanship, and as a complete set, it was so special. The Punainen Rukki means "Red Spinning Wheel".
