Vintage Brown Silk Chiffon Beaded Cocktail Dress Harvey Berin 1950S 34-24-Free
Luscious sheer taupe brown silk chiffon vintage designer dress is made up of a full circle skirt gathered to a balloon bodice overlay. Stunning!
The bodice is appliquéd with silk hand painted autumn leaves, which are outlined, in gold and brown beads. It covers a sheer fitted boned strapless slip bodice of gold silk chiffon. The underskirt is a layer of gold silk chiffon with an inner gold silk crepe skirt.
Back zipper is hidden with hook and eye closures on the outer bodice. Label is Harvey Berin designed by Karen Stark. This dress is part of an exquisite Pennsylvania estate- this lady had class and a taste for luxury, so every item is stunning and unique.

Here is some info on the designer: Harvey Berin opened his business in 1921, and by the 1940s his was an important name in lady’s clothing. His designer was Karen Stark, who was the sister of Berin’s wife, Augusta. Stark adapted the latest styles from Paris each season. And even though Stark did the designing, Berin approved or rejected each design. They were best known for their feminine dresses and ensembles. Berin was a favorite of several First Ladies, including Pat Nixon and Ladybird Johnson. Harvey Berin closed in 1970. “I like dramatic clothes for evening and uncluttered clothes for daytime.
