Stunning Vintage Marimekko 1960s dress in the
Keidas (Oasis) pattern by Annika Rimala has long sleeves and a center back zipper closure. The bold, mod pattern is executed in orange, magenta, with the dark green spot. Four rows of stitching are intact at the hem, evidence that this 1966 dress is a rarity that has never been altered. So many I see have been shortened or shortened and then let back down to the original length, which always causes a line of fade.
This wonderful example is pristine and judging from the overall condition and the condition of the tags was not worn much, if at all. Labeled Marimekko Suomi-Finland, 40/12, ( this one doesn't say 1966, but is identical except for color to the one that does).
100% cotton, with separate care instruction tag. A wonderful vintage dress that is truly editorial material, museum quality, or suited for the most discerning vintage collector.
Shown also is the same pattern in a sleeveless iconic Marimekko style, called "Monrepos" in 1967 by Annika Rimala.
