Rare Antique Childrens/ Babies Shoes Chippewa Indian Bark 1920's
Adorable and rare, these shoes are made of some sort of bark, perhaps birch, hand made by Chippewa Indians in 1920, as indicated on the bottom. They have red silk ribbon decorations and look to have never been worn. Cat not included!( photos taken at another location)
This is part of a collection we recently procured from Carey's Shoe Store, a store that was established in 1919 in Charlevoix, Michigan. The family recently decided to let go of the remaining stock of the store, about 150 pairs, most new and in their original boxes.
