STUNNING Antique Paisley Shawl Tapestry Wool Hand Made 1860s-70s Near Mint

A stunning, oversized antique Civil war era Paisley shawl in wool. The shawl has a black cusped center and paisley design in red, black, turquoise blue, orange and green with white accents. The fabric is a heavy, and is completely hand woven and embroidered, and it is so finely done with only a smallish black center. It was stored for a very long time, and hasn't got even a moth chew, no holes, smells of cedar. It is the best one I have ever come across in 42 years of collecting.

Excellent condition with original fringe.
