Vintage Bombshell Swimsuit Bathing Suit Hawaiian Printed Rayon Lastex 34 1930s
Here's a rare item- a vintage swim dress/bathing suit of "lasted"- a two-way stretch textile made from Latex, introduced in 1925.Lastex is a yarn that has an elastic core wound around with cotton or silk or nylon or rayon threads. Lastex was registered as a trademark in 1931. Lastex was know as the 'miracle fiber' when it first came out. Lastex began to be used in swimwear starting in the late 30's and continuing through the 50's.
This one is a pale blue and white large Hawaiian flower print, kind of a sheen on the fabric. It has a skirted style which falls from under the bust, soft cups( no support) and thread thru straps & low scoop back.
It is lined with a blue cotton knit body which includes the panty- all one piece.
