Womens 1920s Art Deco Coat Downton Miss Fisher Heavy Tweed Large Fur Trimmed
A rare find, a fabulous, larger-sized, wearable 1920s Art Deco era wool tweed coat with asymmetrical button front, belt, and ( what I think is ) beaver collar. The Downton Abbey era coat is lined in green acetate with a backing- presumably for warmth. P.S. I tried it on and as a modern size 14, could easily wear it. The best size range would be, imh opinion, 12-14, maybe a 16 if on the slim side. But of course, always use the measurements as a guide.
It has 2 slash pockets and great Deco Buttons. None are missing!
The coat has not been cleaned and is as found- see condition below.
measurements:( laid flat)
Bust/chest:25" ( 50") pit to pit
Hips:28" ( 56")
Shoulder to Hem:46"
Sleeve from shoulder to hem:25"
Shoulders:18"
Condition: It should be cleaned; it has a few light stains, but no obvious ones. There are small moth chews and tiny holes, only a very few. You can hardly see them due to the tweed. The lining has a little fade and 1 tiny hole. The sleeve lining, where it meets the coat, has been repaired a few times. The fur is a little worn, but nothing smells. Overall, it's perfectly wearable. But I would clean it just to have that perfect experience!
