Vintage Black-Brown Shades Pony Fur Trench Coat 1970s Provenance Size 10-12
Fantastic one of a kind custom made vintage coat( see note below) of pony fur, fashioned into a trench style of the 1970s. Single-breasted though slightly asymmetrical, with unique buttons of leather, and lined in a black fabric I cannot identify- it is like silky cotton. The coat is made up of large panels in different shades of dark brown-black with some spotted panels. It has set-in sleeves and two front inseam pockets. It has a fur collar, similar to monkey fur but could be trimmed with the mane. Truly unique! It has no label as most of Ms. Loews' clothing was either designer or custom made.
This was custom made for Sonja Loew, a Czech who married theater magnate E. M. Loew and was fabulous for her generosity, outrageous outfits, and indecipherable accent. She is sitting next to Zsa Zsa Gabor in this photo.

Finally, the voice of reason- it’s actually “green” to wear vintage fur!"
It's the voice of reason, at last!
